Problem:

The error message 'Update CRC Error' appears when user is trying to update their ADP software.



Background: 

This error can occur when an ADP application fails to open an update file received by email. ADP checks the CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) within the update file, which checks that the contents have not been modified during transmission.


This indicates that the file has been changed or damaged in transit since it was packaged on the server and must not be used to update ADP. Users experiencing this error should re-request the update and attempt to apply it again.


Solution: 

User should use the 'ADP Update Rollback' feature to rollback the most recent update that applied successfully.

The 'Update Rollback' feature is included in all ADP releases.


To use the Update Rollback: 

1. Right-click on the 'Data Update' Wizard icon and select 'Properties'

2. Click 'Open File' 

3. The 'Update Roll Back' utility will be shown 

4. Double-click on the 'Update Roll Back' icon 

5. A button for each ADP product will be shown. Click each one once 

6. Attempt the update process again
